# Best 14 Family Tours in Puerto Rico

> **Guidekin** is a hand-picked catalogue: we read every listing ourselves and keep only operators rated 4.5★ with 30+ traveler reviews. [How we choose tours](https://guidekin.com/how-we-choose-tours/) Catalogue data as of November 4, 2026.

Our selection is built by rule, not by picking favourites, and the same rule applies in every city. We start from every Puerto Rico tour in the Guidekin catalogue, each already rated at least 4.5 by 30 or more travellers, and keep the ones a family with children can book without reading the fine print.

A tour drops out if the operator sets a minimum age of 12 or more, in the small print or in the ticket types it sells (a tour with adult tickets only is not a family tour, whatever its notes say about strollers), if it is built around alcohol (wine, cocktails, pub stops, party and DJ boats, unlimited drinks), if it is an extreme or motorised activity (quads, buggies, self-drive boats, diving, canyoning, coasteering, Segways), a bike or e-bike ride, a hike, an adult theme (ghost walks, nightlife, adult history), a multi-day trip or a day longer than ten hours, a transfer, a photo tour, a shore excursion for cruise passengers only, or a tour run in a language other than English. Family tours also stay under €150 per person: anything above that line belongs to our luxury selection.

What stays must be a format families actually book: boats and snorkelling, animals and parks, jeeps, tuk-tuks and golf carts, cable cars, cooking classes and craft workshops, hot-air balloons, waterfalls, caves, castles and palaces. A line about strollers in the operator’s small print helps, but never qualifies a tour on its own.

Tours that call themselves family or kids tours come first; the rest follow by our rating, which weighs the average score by how many travellers gave it. No more than two tours from one operator and no more than four of one format, so a city of tuk-tuks still shows its boats, classes and day trips. The table compares the top ten (the whole list when it is shorter) on price, duration, group size, pickup, tickets, languages and cancellation terms. The list is recalculated as the catalogue changes: new tours, price updates and tours that fall below our bar move in and out on their own.

## Why each made the list

- **All inclusive Three in One Cave, Mountain, and Beach Tour** — Cueva del Indio with its Taíno petroglyphs near Arecibo, a mountain lookout and a beach in one day, with lunch, snacks, drinks and the entrance fee all in the price. It is a sightseeing day rather than a hike, but it is not suited to knee or balance problems. 4.99 from 356 reviews at €90 per person.
- **San Juan Guided Turtle Snorkel Tour and Complimentary Videos** — A guided snorkel from a San Juan beach where sea turtles graze in shallow water, with all gear and a free camera video in the price. You make your own way to the beach and there is no refund if the camera fails; from age eight. 4.9 from 19047 reviews at €35 per person.
- **Make Your Own Perfume Guided Workshop | Old San Juan** — Half an hour in an Old San Juan perfumery blending your own scent from base, middle and top notes with a guide, and a bottle of the result to take home. It is a workshop rather than a tour, and champagne cocktails cost extra. 4.92 from 304 reviews at €90 per person.
- **Clear Kayak Tour in Condado Lagoon** — An hour in a transparent kayak on the Condado lagoon early in the day, before it fills up, with fish, birds and sometimes manatees under the hull and a guide alongside. Kayak and life jacket are included; parking and gratuities are not. 4.87 from 1638 reviews at €59 per person.
- **Snorkeling Tour to Vieques Island only 30 minutes away!** — A snorkel and beach run to Vieques on a short crossing from the east coast, so more of the day goes to reefs, turtles and beaches reachable only by boat. Paddle boards, snorkel gear, light refreshments and all fees are in the price; only tips are extra. 4.86 from 856 reviews at €123 per person for 4h.
- **Old San Juan and El Morro Castle Walking Tour** — A walk through Old San Juan that goes inside El Morro, the cathedral, past the Governor's mansion and the city gate, with the fort entrance fee already in the price and a certified local guide. Bring water shoes with grip for the cobbles; the route is not for anyone who struggles to walk. 4.86 from 737 reviews at €44 per person.
- **Private Puerto Rican Cooking Class in San Juan for Groups** — A private class in a home kitchen in a residential part of San Juan where a local host teaches four or five traditional dishes and then eats with you, drinks included, lunch or dinner. Groups can be large on request, vegetarian menus on notice, and cancellation needs a week's warning for a refund. 5 from 54 reviews at €133 per person.
- **Icacos Deserted Island Catamaran, Snorkel, and Picnic Cruise** — A catamaran that parks at the beach on uninhabited Icacos until after lunch, then sails to a reef for snorkelling and back under sail, with a sandwich buffet, rum punch and beach toys on board. Check in at the Fajardo marina early; no refund for no shows. 4.84 from 2576 reviews at €125 per person.
- **Private Authentic Puerto Rican Cooking Class with a Local Couple** — A private hands on class with a local couple at their countryside home about an hour from San Juan or Ponce, cooking family recipes and eating them with local wine or beer. There is no pickup and no ride share out there, so you need a car. 5 from 36 reviews at €147 per person.
- **Old San Juan Tour by Golf Cart with Local Flavors** — Old San Juan by private golf cart for people who would rather not walk the hills, with a stop for a piña colada and an alcapurria, soft drinks and water on board. Infant seats can be arranged, and it suits cruise passengers and anyone with mobility concerns. 4.85 from 128 reviews at €122 per person.
- **Small-Group El Yunque Waterfall & Waterslides with Pickup** — Door to door pickup across San Juan, Carolina, Rio Grande and Luquillo for a waterfall and waterslides day in El Yunque, with a guide who leans on the ecosystem and local history. Life jackets are included; bring your own food and water. 4.8 from 3049 reviews for 4h–5h at €64 per person.
- **3 Tours in 1 Day Old San Juan Rainforest and Beach with Transport** — Three stops in one bus day: a hop on hop off loop of Old San Juan, two natural waterslides in El Yunque and the beach kiosks at Luquillo, with entrance fees, life vests and round trip transport included. Food is bought at the kiosks, and children of five or under cannot board. 4.8 from 1093 reviews at €40 per person.
- **Horseback Riding Tour at Private Ranch** — Two hours on Paso Fino horses across a large private ranch minutes from San Juan, past lagoons and tropical vegetation with views to the coastal plain, helmet and guide included. Riders from age eight, a weight limit is checked at the barn, no pickup and no food. 4.76 from 593 reviews at €103 per person.
- **Old San Juan Golf Cart Exploration (Est. 2023)** — A golf cart loop through three sides of San Juan with drinks on board and a step stool for anyone who finds the climb in hard, which makes it the easy option for older travellers. Travel time counts in the total and tips are expected. 4.61 from 695 reviews at €86 per person for 1h 15m.
