## Overview

Board our vintage Land Rovers and let's head into the back roads of Beaujolais. We'll take you through the best of what Beaujolais has to offer: private medieval castles, wineries, local craftsmen, local producers (honey, cheese, cold cuts, truffles, etc.). Beaujolais has 10 crus (top wines); we can cover most of them in that full day. 

Lunch will either be in a local restaurant or on a picnic we'll set up in the vineyards. We focus on what we love, which is usually food, wine, anecdotes, history, architecture, and landscapes.

We'll stop in a vineyard to open a few bottles of wine and taste local cold cuts and cheese with a gorgeous view of the region.

All our rides are private and tailor-made, so we'll happily adjust the above to your centers of interest.

## Itinerary

1. **Fleurie** (10m) - The most feminine cru of Beaujolais region, a quaint village with more wine shops than you can imagine.
2. **Saint-Amour-Bellevue** (20m) - The most romantic stop of our day out, we'll see a medieval church and tell you why Japanese people come here to renew their vows
3. **Chenas** (10m) - A lesser known cru of Beaujolais with a castle that has a fantastic World War 1 anecdote.
4. **Julienas** (20m) - A popular cru of Beaujolais, we'll stop in an old church urned into a wine cellar where we'll have a drink with local wine growers
5. **Mont Brouilly** (pass by, no stop) - Famour for its hill and for hosting the Tour de France on a regular basis, we'll take a look at this cru which is the most popular of Beaujolais region
6. **Domaine de la Madone** (1h 30m; admission included) - Weather allowing we'll have lunch in the middle of the vine, expect a barbecue or a picnic (to be discussed)
7. **Regnie-Durette** (20m) - We'll stop to visit a 12th century chapel that was saved from destruction in the 80's when paintings were found on its wall behind plaster coverage.
8. **Salles-Arbuissonnas-en-Beaujolais** (45m) - A 5th century abbey built by the Cluny order which had a massive influence over Europe. Beautifully preserved, there's a good chance we'll have the place to ourselves!
9. **Chateau de Nervers** (10m; admission included) - A castle built by an eccentric owner and with quite the story
