Helmets, torches, water and transport are included, but the cable car, bus and guide ticket is paid locally, and pregnancy or heart problems rule it out. 4.97 from 34 reviews at €70 per person. ## Overview This tour will allow you to get close to the area of the summit craters of Etna characterized by the typical volcanic activity with gas and sulfur emissions. With the naturalistic guide you will go to the entrance of the Etna cable car and from here you will take the cable car that will take you to 2500mt., from there you will be transported by 4×4 bus to an altitude of 2800mt. where you will find the volcanological mountain guide who will show you the craters of the 2002 eruption and at the same time you will find yourself face to face with the smoking summit craters. It will also be possible to choose the option only with the ascent by cable car up to 2500 meters. At the end of the high-altitude tour, the guide will show you other peculiar elements of Etna located at lower altitudes to finally take you to a farm located in Zafferana Etnea to taste the typical products of the place. ## Before you book - Hotel pickup: from 84 pickup points - Min. 2 to book: not for solo travellers - Starts 08:30: one departure a day - Strollers OK: infants accepted - Children from €50: ages 0 to 11 ## Key facts - Price: from €70 per person - Duration: 4h–5h - Rating: 4.97/5 from 34 reviews (collected from Guidekin & Viator & Tripadvisor) - Free cancellation (see policy below) - Recommended by 100% of travellers (share of four- and five-star reviews) - Operator: Exclusive Etna Excursion - Minimum booking: 2 travellers at this price ## What's included - helmets and torches - Bottled water - Air-conditioned vehicle ## Not included - Cable car, 4x4 and volcanological guide ticket €78 per person to be paid locally ## Itinerary 1. **Excursion that will allow you to observe from a close distance the active cra...** (1h 30m) - Excursion that will allow you to observe from a close distance the active craters of Etna characterized by emissions of gas and sulfur. - Pick up at an accommodation or agreed meeting point - Visit to the summit area (reachable by cable car) at an altitude of 2900 meters with... ## Schedule - Runs: daily - Departures: 08:30 - Schedule last checked: 2026-09-26 - These are published departures, not a live seat count; availability is confirmed at checkout. ## Cancellation For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time. ## Meeting point details to be agreed when booking Map: https://www.google.com/maps/place/?q=place_id:ChIJL7REbA_9ExMRX8l4Icy_Txk Pickup points listed by the operator: 84 ## Good to know - Public transportation options are available nearby - Infants are required to sit on an adult’s lap - Specialized infant seats are available - Not recommended for pregnant travelers - Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health - Suitable for all physical fitness levels Booking asks for: arrival flight or ship details ## Compared with other Etna Tours | Tour | Price | Duration | Rating | Group | |---|---|---|---|---| | **This tour · #13 of 35** | €70 | 4h–5h | 4.97 (34) | shared | | [Etna Tour - HalfDay Small Group & licensed Tour Guide](/italy/catania/tours/etna-tour-halfday-small-group-licensed-tour-guide/?format=md) | €75 | 6h | 4.99 (219) | shared | | [Tour Etna and Wine Tasting](/italy/catania/tours/tour-etna-and-wine-tasting/?format=md) | €145 | 8h | 4.92 (418) | shared | | [Etna Morning tour with lunch included (departure from Catania)](/italy/catania/tours/etna-morning-tour-with-lunch-included-departure-from-catania/?format=md) | €82 | 6h | 4.92 (353) | shared | Ranked #13 of 35 in Etna Tours by Guidekin score (rating weighted by review volume).
