There is no better way to enjoy an afternoon of your trip than to visit the Zaanse Schans windmills, an area that was the economic engine of the country between the 16th and 18th centuries, as the Dutch took advantage of the force of the wind to grind the spices they brought from their colonies, make oils, mustards, paper, cocoa... Our specialist guides will explain its curious operation and accompany you to a clog workshop where they will show us live how traditional Dutch footwear is made. We will also visit a cheese shop where we can taste a wide variety of Dutch cheeses and explain the process of making the famous Gouda cheeses. Of course, before returning to Amsterdam, we will enjoy free time to stroll and take the best photos of your trip! ## Before you book - Meeting point: En la puerta principal de la bolera… - Starts 13:15, 14:15: 2 departures a day - Food not included: bring or buy your own - Strollers OK: infants accepted **Pickup:** No hotel pickup: everyone meets at the start point ## Key facts - Price: from €25 per person - Duration: 5h - Rating: 4.7/5 from 118 reviews (collected from Guidekin & Viator & Tripadvisor) - Free cancellation (see policy below) - Operator: Camaleon Tours - Group: Shared tour - Guide languages: English, Spanish - Start times: 13:15, 14:15 - Booking: Instant confirmation, mobile ticket - Price checked on Viator: 2026-10-22 ## Reviews 4.7 from 118 ratings on Guidekin, Viator & Tripadvisor. 93% of ratings with a star breakdown are 4 or 5 stars: 110 of 118. - 5 stars: 98 (83%) - 4 stars: 12 (10%) - 3 stars: 4 (3%) - 2 stars: 1 (1%) - 1 star: 3 (3%) ## Tour options Prices are the operator's current list price for two travellers (whole euros); options sold only to bigger parties say so; pick the option on the booking page. | Option | Price | Guide languages | Details | |---|---|---|---| | Spanish | €25 / person | Spanish, English | Spanish Tour | | English | €25 / person | Spanish, English | English Tour | ## What's included - Spanish Guide - Air-conditioned vehicle - English guide ## Not included - Food and drink - Gratuities ## Itinerary 1. **Zaanse Schans** (3h) - The famous mills of Zaanse Schans, in addition to different workshops and farms in which the ancient Dutch trades are still practiced. 2. **Zaandam** (45m) - Discover Zaandam, one of the most original cities in the Netherlands, famous for its colorful houses and peculiar architecture inspired by LEGO pieces.
