## Overview

Gràcia is one of Barcelona’s strongest expressions of Catalan identity, and nowhere is that more evident than in its markets, bakeries, bodegas and neighborhood restaurants.

On this tour, we’ll explore the district through some of its most beloved institutions, beginning with coffee and traditional cakes at a century-old sweets shop. We’ll visit two celebrated markets, taste local cheeses and fine Iberian ham, and stop at a classic neighborhood bar for a glass of artisanal vermouth before lunch.

Along the way, we’ll also discover the newer side of Gràcia, where creative chefs are reinterpreting traditional Catalan dishes and independent shops are bringing fresh energy to the neighborhood. 1. **Mercat de la Boqueria** (2h) - Our day will consist of a series of delicious bites and intriguing sites. We will start our food tour in Barcelona with coffee and traditional pastries in a century-old sweets shop and then eat our way through two of Barcelona’s most celebrated markets.
2. **Mercat de la Llibertat** (1h) - As we walk through one of Barcelona's lesser-known public markets, we'll stop to get to know some of its vendors and taste their delicious offerings.
3. **Passeig de Gracia** (1h) - In each of the dozen places we visit on this tour, from the rustic to the refined, we’ll learn more about the Catalan kitchen and day-to-day Catalan life in its stronghold, the Gràcia neighborhood.
