After meeting your guide at one of our central Dublin pickup points, settle into our smaller coach and travel south along Dublin Bay. At Killiney Hill, enjoy a short walk to a panoramic viewpoint with spectacular views across the bay and coastline before we turn inland towards the Wicklow Mountains. Winter itinerary (1 November–4 April): Killiney Hill is normally not included as we operate a shorter route designed around the reduced winter daylight.
40 minEnjoy a coffee and freshly baked scone, browse the shop and discover a range of Irish gifts and locally inspired products. Food and shopping are at your own expense. Winter itinerary (1 November–4 April): Avoca is normally not included as we operate a shorter route designed around the reduced winter daylight.
25 minLeaving Avoca, our smaller coach takes a route larger tour coaches can’t, travelling through Enniskerry and Glencree and deep into the Wild Wicklow Mountains towards the spectacular Sally Gap.
Pass by, no stopContinuing our drive through the Wicklow Mountains National Park and Sally Gap. View the park’s upper slopes, blanketed in heather and bog before stopping at Lough Tay (The Guinness Lake" ) a true wonder and film location for Braveheart, PS I Love You and Vikings TV series.
30 minRelax, savour Irish home-cooking and sip on a creamy Guinness before heading to the glacial valley of Glendalough. Alternative options available if a pub lunch is not your thing. Ask you guide for info.
1hGlendalough, the “Valley of the Two Lakes”, has drawn visitors for centuries with its dramatic scenery, ancient history and peaceful setting. Founded by St Kevin in the 6th century, its monastic settlement once included churches, guest houses, an infirmary and centres for manuscript writing. Join your guide to explore highlights including the famous Round Tower, then enjoy free time to discover the valley at your own pace. You can also walk through ancient woodland to the Upper Lake.
1h 30mSmaller Coach. Wilder Roads. The Best of Wicklow.
Unlike many larger coach tours, our smaller coach takes you beyond the main roads and deeper into the Wicklow Mountains, with access to spectacular mountain roads, valleys and viewpoints that larger vehicles often cannot reach.
Travel with one of our expert local guides for a fun, relaxed day filled with scenery, history, stories and plenty of time to experience Wicklow.
Highlights: scenic drive along Dublin’s southern coast, Killiney Hill, Avoca Handweavers (Kilmacanoge), Sally Gap, Lough Tay (Guinness Lake), Glendalough’s ancient monastic site and free time to explore the Valley of the Two Lakes. Finish with a complimentary taste of Glendalough Whiskey.
