So leave your guidebook at home and follow us through the history of the Mausoleum of Hadrian, usually known as Castel Sant'Angelo. Don’t miss the chance to visit the Tomb of the Roman emperor Hadrian, also called Hadrian's mole.
Discover the ancient legend of Archangel Michael appeared atop the mausoleum, sheathing his sword as a sign of the end of the plague of 590, thus lending the castle its present name.

The official entrance ticket to Castel Sant'Angelo is priced at €18 and also includes access to the Boncompagni Ludovisi House Museum and the Hendrik Christian Andersen House Museum (access to these museums is not included as part of the guided tour). The museum visits are valid on the same day or within the following two days, until 31 December 2026.
