Testaccio, the neighbourhood Romans eat in: the market, a bruschetta you build from the vendors' tomatoes, all three Roman pastas, carbonara, amatriciana and cacio e pepe, and a gelateria old enough to explain what fake gelato looks like. Tastings, wine and beer are included at €109 per person, tips and pickup are not. Not for severe food allergies.
Discover Testaccio, Rome’s hidden treasure, with the city’s first food tour, delighting food lovers since 2011. Venture off the beaten path into the vibrant Testaccio Market Rome, and stroll through the quaint streets that surround it. Experience a journey through all the flavors of Rome, capturing the genuine and authentic character of one of the city’s most charming undiscovered neighborhoods.
Visit vendors that have been perfecting their trade for decades: from growing the freshest fruit and herbs, to baking the freshest bread, and then watch them be combined in front of you to make bruschetta and caprese salad with fresh buffalo mozerella, right there in the market.
Then, venture further into the surrounding neighborhood, tasting uniquely Roman street food and finishing with what many describe as the best gelato they’ve ever had.
