Mount Fuji 5th Station is the entrance to climbing Mount Fuji. Many people climb Mount Fuji from here as a starting point. (It takes 2hours from Tokyo to Mt.Fuji 5th station and travelers usually stay at 5th station for 30mins)
2hThere are two different views of Mount Fuji. One is the mountain itself and the other is inverted in its reflection on the water. (It takes 30mins from Mt.Fuji 5th station to Lake Kawaguchi and travelers usually stay at Lake Kawaguchi for 30mins)
1hOwakudani is the area around a crater created during the last eruption of Mount Hakone some 3000 years ago. Today, much of the area is an active volcanic zone where sulfurous fumes and hot springs can be experienced. It also has good views of Mount Fuji on clear days. Eggs cooked in Owakudani's hot spring pools with their shells blackened by the sulfur are on sale at shops in the area, and eating one is said to prolong one's life by seven years. (It takes 1hour from Lake Kawaguchi to Hakone and travelers usually stay at Owaku-dani Valley for 40mins)
