What reviewers say

Reviewers praise the guides and waterfront views; the caveat is that the distillery's own mature whisky was not yet available.

Praised

  • Knowledgeable, humorous guides explain whisky making clearly
  • The distillery's origin story and vertical design hold visitors' interest
  • Views over the waterfront from the distillery and tasting area
  • Varied tastings of spirits, port and sherry make the sampling informative
  • An approachable tour even for visitors who do not usually enjoy whisky

Complaints

  • Some enjoy the alternative samples, while others miss tasting the distillery's own mature whisky
  • Production shutdowns left some visitors unable to see the equipment working
