Tours in Lisbon

203 tours in Lisbon, from €9 to €450 per person, average rating 4.9 based on 146136 reviews.

Lisbon is a city that rewards a guide. It climbs over seven hills above the Tagus, and the parts worth seeing sit down narrow lanes, behind tiled facades, at the top of staircases you would walk past on your own. Booking tours in Lisbon hands you a local who knows which viewpoint, which tram, and which tasca is actually worth the stop.

When you compare tours in Lisbon, start from the kind of day you want. We would put first-timers on a sightseeing or tuk-tuk loop through Alfama, Belem and the Baixa to get the lay of the land, then a food walk for pastel de nata and a proper bacalhau lunch. The obvious day trip is Sintra and the coast at Cascais. Walking tours go deeper into Mouraria and the old quarters, and private options with hotel pickup keep the logistics off your plate.

203 tours in Lisbon from €9. Sightseeing, food, walking, tuk-tuk and day trips, private or small-group, with free cancellation on most and easy to book online.

Viator lists 4,303 tours for Lisbon. Guidekin lists 203 of them, chosen by rating (4.5★ or higher, 30+ reviews), each one read and summarised.

Planning a trip to Lisbon

Best time to visit

Lisbon rewards a visit year-round, but spring (March to May) and early autumn (September to October) are the sweet spot: warm days, lighter crowds and better prices than peak summer. July and August are hot and busiest, ideal for boat and beach day trips, while winters stay mild, quiet and great value.

Getting there & around

Most visitors land at Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS), about 20 minutes from the centre by metro or taxi. The city is walkable but steep, so lean on the historic trams, the metro and short rideshare hops between hills. Many tours include hotel pickup or start from central, easy-to-reach meeting points.

Frequently Asked Questions

Walk if you want street-level detail and neighborhood context; take a tuk-tuk if hills, small children or a half day are the constraint. City walking tours: 22 in the catalogue, the middle 50% cost €56 to €98 per person, median 3 hours, only 3 private. Tuk-tuks: 30, of which 29 private, median €70 per person, median 3 hours, 24 collect you at the hotel. The most reviewed tour in the city is a tuk-tuk, 4.98 from 11,074 reviews.

With two days, do both: the center is a half-day on foot, Sintra takes a full day. Sintra tours from Lisbon: 50 options, median 8 hours, 37 with hotel pickup, from €30 for a coach loop with palace tickets extra, median €92 per person. Going independently is cheaper, but transport, timed palace tickets and the queues are then yours to arrange.

Private is easiest to justify for groups, hotel pickup, children or limited mobility; on price alone, shared is still cheaper for one or two travelers. Of the 202 Lisbon tours counted here, transfers and rentals left out, 100 are private and 102 shared. Median price per person: €135 private against €56 shared, and for in-town tours only, €98 against €45. The two sides sell different products, so read this as a spread, not a premium for the same tour. 17 private tours price per vehicle at a median €350: divide by your party size to compare. Hotel pickup: 82 of 100 private tours, 20 of 102 shared.

Half a day: most city tours finish inside three hours. Of the 96 city tours that state a duration, 67 take up to 3 hours, 27 take 3 to 5 and 2 longer than 5 hours; the median is 3 hours. Belém fits comfortably into a half-day city itinerary; adding Sintra or the coast usually turns the plan into a full day.

Hills and cobbles make vehicle-based tours easier for many travelers with limited mobility, but accessibility varies by vehicle: use the operator-marked wheelchair filter rather than assuming every tuk-tuk is suitable. Operator-marked wheelchair accessible: 40 of 202 tours (11 of the 30 tuk-tuks, none of the 22 city walking tours); 135 accept strollers or infants.

Guidekin does not rank operators as best by size: every partner tour listed here clears the same review bar, and 149 operators have at least one qualifying tour in the Lisbon catalogue. The bar is 4.5 or higher from at least 30 verified traveler reviews, cross-checked between Viator and Tripadvisor. By total review volume across their listed tours, the most established are Inside Lisbon, I Took a Tuk Tuk, Eating Europe and Eco Tuk Tours. Review volume shows a track record, not a quality ranking: when comparing operators, weigh review volume and recency, cancellation terms and whether the inclusions are spelled out.

Two full days are enough for Lisbon's main neighborhoods and sights; add a third for Sintra or the coast. If Lisbon is your first stop in Portugal, three days gives you a much less rushed balance between the city and one full-day excursion.

Figures in these answers come from the 202 tours on this page, as of September 26, 2026; one transfer or rental listing is left out of the counts.
